Assistant Curator of Digital Collections

Hagley Museum and Library in Wilmington, DE, seeks a full-time assistant digital curator for its digital archives. Hagley is an independent research library devoted to documenting the history of American business, technology, and design. Since 2008, we have been aggressively building our digital collection and exhibits.

The successful candidate will work with the Curator of Digital Collections and collaborate with other curators to advance digital initiatives, conceptualize and produce web-based projects involving collections and exhibits, assist with high-volume digitization projects, help manage Hagley’s IT infrastructure, and assist in preserving born-digital records.

Requirements include an advanced degree in history or related field, with significant work experience in an historical institution or the field of digital humanities preferred and extensive experience with any or all of the following: HTML, CSS, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Flash, WordPress, and CMS solutions such as ContentDM and Drupal. An interest in or ability to work with JavaScript, PHP, or ActionScript is essential, as is familiarity with the latest techniques and significant projects in the field of digital humanities. Desirable features in a candidate include an understanding of web server management and related IT infrastructure, demonstrated experience with public history, familiarity with project management principles, and proficiency in creating websites and applications for mobile devices.
